Who We Are
The Arvada Community Food Bank is a Colorado nonprofit 501 c (3) corporation formed in 1982 by Inter-Church ARMS (Arvada Resources for Mind and Spirit) to serve the needy and vulnerable in our community. Our goal is to secure the resources (food, financial, physical, and volunteers) necessary to provide programs to help meet the nutritional needs of qualifying community members.
From the beginning the Arvada Community Food Bank has worked with city government, churches, schools, civic organizations, businesses and private citizens to ensure that the residents of Arvada and surrounding communities would have a place to go for emergency food.
What We Do
Through various Arvada Community Food Bank programs we strive to improve the quality of life for hungry families and children in our community. It is through unwavering support of the community that we have been able to provide food to those in need for nearly three decades.
It is this legacy which the Arvada Community Food strives to continue. Our generous and hardworking volunteers, supporters, Board of Directors and staff take pride in being an essential strand in the fabric of our community.
ACFB has always been volunteer-centric, growing from a few friends actively distributing food,to a volunteer force nearing 300 people and providing approximately 20,000 hours of service. Annual community food donations have grown to exceed 500,000 lbs. ACFB is a true community organization.
ACFB believes it can produce a significant impact in the quality of life in our community, not only by addressing hunger, but also by building community and improving the overall economic standards in its service area. ACFB will continue to provide innovative programs to provide food resources to targeted populations in an ever-widening network through Northern Jefferson County Colorado.
